Republic FC Adds Midfield Depth With Signing of Pierre Reedy
Sacramento Republic FC continued to shape its midfield for the upcoming season with the signing of Pierre Reedy, the club announced today. The 24-year-old midfielder will be added to the roster pending league and federation approval. Per club policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Reedy arrives in Sacramento after multiple seasons of experience across USL League One, the USL Championship, and abroad, bringing versatility and a work-rate profile that aligns closely with head coach Neill Collins’ demands in midfield.
“Pierre is a well-rounded player who can have an impact on both ends of the pitch,” Collins said. “He brings a mentality and work rate that make every team he’s a part of better. We’re looking forward to having him join our fight for silverware.”
Proven Contributor in League One
Reedy spent the last two seasons with Spokane Velocity FC, playing a key role in the club’s first two years of existence. Across all competitions, he made 35 appearances, scoring four goals and adding five assists, while helping the expansion side reach the USL League One Final in back-to-back seasons.
His influence extended beyond raw numbers. Earlier this year, Reedy was named USL League One Player of the Week after recording a goal and two assists in a standout performance against Westchester, underlining his ability to impact matches in advanced areas while maintaining defensive responsibility.
Championship Experience and Winning Pedigree
Before his time in Spokane, Reedy featured in the USL Championship with Charleston Battery during the 2023 season. Joining midway through the campaign, he contributed to a late-season surge that saw Charleston finish third in the Eastern Conference—an improvement of nine points from the previous year. The Battery would go on to claim their first-ever Eastern Conference Championship.
That experience, paired with his League One success, gives Reedy familiarity with the competitive demands of multiple USL environments—an important factor as Republic FC balances league play with cup competitions.
Professional Roots and European Experience
Reedy signed his first professional contract in 2022 with Real Monarchs, where he made 18 appearances in MLS NEXT Pro. That season also included two short-term loan appearances with Real Salt Lake, offering him exposure at the MLS level.
Later in 2022, Reedy trialed with Scottish Championship side Dundee FC and earned a contract for the second half of the season. He made four appearances as Dundee secured promotion back to the Scottish Premiership, adding European experience to his developing résumé.
A New Chapter in Sacramento
For Reedy, the move to Sacramento represents both an opportunity and a challenge as Republic FC looks to compete on multiple fronts.
“It’s an honor to be a part of this club,” Reedy said. “I’m looking forward to this new challenge and giving everything I have for this club and our fans.”
With his ability to contribute on both sides of the ball and his familiarity with winning environments, Reedy adds another layer of depth and competition to Republic FC’s midfield as preparations for the new season continue.
