Republic FC Adds Goalkeeper Jacob Randolph
Republic FC continued to build out its roster for the 2026 season on Thursday, announcing the signing of goalkeeper Jacob Randolph. The deal is pending league and federation approval, with contract terms undisclosed per club policy.
Randolph arrives in Sacramento after spending the first two seasons of his professional career with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, where he was part of one of the league’s most consistent defensive units and a historic championship run.
“Jacob is a great addition to our goalkeeping squad,” said Head Coach Neill Collins. “He knows what it takes to be a part of an elite defensive team and we feel that he’s going to add even more depth to our roster as we battle for multiple trophies.”
Championship Pedigree and Defensive Experience
The 6-foot-5 goalkeeper was a member of Pittsburgh’s 2025 USL Championship title-winning squad, helping the Riverhounds secure the first league championship in club history. While his match minutes were limited, Randolph was embedded in a defensive group that defined the season—recording 28 clean sheets and conceding just 56 goals during the regular season from 2024 to 2025.
Across all competitions, Randolph made 11 appearances for Pittsburgh, recording four clean sheets. In league play specifically, he has logged six USL Championship appearances with two shutouts, gaining experience in high-pressure environments within a defense-first system.
That background aligns with a Republic FC side that has consistently emphasized structure, organization, and collective defending under Collins.
Adding Depth to the Goalkeeping Unit
Republic FC’s move appears focused on strengthening depth and competition within the goalkeeping group as the club prepares to compete across multiple competitions in 2026.
“I’m excited to join the Sacramento Republic organization and community,” Randolph said. “I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and I’m ready to fight for trophies with this Indomitable club.”
At 6’5”, Randolph brings a commanding physical presence and familiarity with elite defensive standards—traits that often translate well within Republic FC’s system and expectations.
Looking Ahead
With Randolph’s signing, Republic FC continues to emphasize roster balance and depth ahead of the 2026 campaign. His championship experience, familiarity with elite defensive environments, and physical profile give the club another reliable option in goal as it looks to contend on multiple fronts next season.
